The Kia Telluride made quite a splash when it was introduced to the market and even today it continues as one of the most impressive full-size three-row SUVs you can buy. This is further validated with the recent introduction of the 2023 Telluride which receives a new style, new versions designed for off-road adventures, and even more connectivity features. These new features give the new Telluride everything it needs to outshine the competition including the Volkswagen Atlas. We won’t sit here and tell you that the Atlas doesn’t have a lot to offer – it does. However, the Telluride also gives its owners plenty of value.
The 2023 Kia Telluride provides better performance
Performance is important, whether you’re towing a boat or just zipping around the city. The Kia Telluride is equipped with a 3.8-litre V6 engine that has an output of 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. This powerful engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that comes with a variety of driving modes made to conquer all road conditions.
All this is mated to Kia’s superior all-wheel-drive system which offers the best traction in Canada’s changing road conditions. The Telluride is also perfect for towing. With a capacity of 5,000 lb, it can tow a boat, an ATV or anything else you wish to put behind it.
The Volkswagen Atlas offers two engines. The one you will find in the majority of the lineup’s trims is the four-cylinder 2.0-litre engine that only outputs 235 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. This engine is clearly underpowered compared to the Telluride’s state-of-the-art powertrain and can only tow 2,000lb. The second, and more expensive engine is a 3.6-litre V6 with an output of 276 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. Although it shows a few more foot-pounds on paper, it still falls short in terms of power.
The 2023 Kia Telluride is more comfortable and spacious
Space is important in this kind of vehicle, that’s why the Telluride doesn’t compromise. If you have a large family, it offers space for up to 8 passengers, while the Volkswagen Atlas maxes out at 7. But that’s not all, the Telluride also deploys more space for cargo when it is full of passengers. With 601 litres of cargo behind the third row, you can bring more stuff along than with the Atlas, which only has 583 litres.
The 2023 Kia Telluride is a better SUV for your family thanks to superior performance, space, style and more. Come see it today! You can also shop for your Kia online with us. Our representatives are waiting for your call or e-mail and can answer all your questions.
