The 2023 Kia Niro has received significant improvements this year, and the redesigned model was unveiled this week at the New York Auto Show. This was our first look at the new Niro here in North America as we await its arrival on the market this fall. The new Kia Niro improves upon the features that we already loved about the Kia small SUV, and it promises to deliver better range as well as more interior versatility. Here are three things that are better with a 2023 Kia Niro which will continue to be offered as a hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric model.
Range
The 2023 Kia Niro continues to stand out when it comes to offering owners an impressive blend of driving pleasure and efficiency. It is the only model in its segments to offer a hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric option. The PHEV model will have more range this year thanks to a larger 11.1 kWh battery which improves range to 52 km. The PHEV version also gets more horsepower with 180, a significant improvement over the outgoing PHEV model with 139 horsepower.
The Kia Niro EV also gets a larger battery which translates into more electric range. The Kia Niro EV now offers 407 km of range thanks to a 64.8 kWh battery. It continues to deliver 201 hp and impressive performance overall.
Interior Space
The 2023 Kia Niro EV will also be more spacious. It features 646 L of cargo space inside, and it also offers more legroom and headroom. This may be a small SUV that's designed for the city, but you will never run out of space in the 2023 Niro.
Interior Luxury
The new Kia Niro will also be more luxurious and more refined. We expect to see a brand-new centre console inspired by the Kia EV6 with fully digital controls as well as two large 10.25 inch screens. The new Kia Niro will also have more features with heated and ventilated seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and connectivity features like Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
